Use of technology in sports has exploded putting sports related applications at the centre of the IoT. Usability, interoperability and connectivity at times pose conflicting challenges which must be addressed to continue the sharp growth inmarket adoption. Sebastian Barnowski is Team Lead of ANT Wireless Applications Engineering at Dynastream Innovations. In this role he works with industry leaders to define low power wireless communication standards for sport and fitness applications. The resulting ANT+ Device Profiles have been integrated into millions of devices worldwide ensuring interoperability between brands such as Garmin, Samsung, Trek and many others. He has a specific interest applying low power wireless technology to challenging use cases involving high node counts and crowded RF environments. Sebastian has over 15 years of experience in embedded systems spanning a range of industries. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 2000 with a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering.
